Israel has confirmed that the final six living hostages slated for released under Phase 1, including Abera Mengistu and Hisham Al-Sayed who have been held for a decade, will be freed by Hamas on Saturday. It has also been confirmed that Hamas plans to release the bodies of eight hostages who were killed in captivity. Moving forward, Hamas is offering to release all remaining Israeli hostages in one Phase 2 exchange that would end the war in Gaza. They are seeking guarantees that Israel will not return to war while Israel says its mediators will demand an end to Hamas rule of Gaza as a condition for ending the war.
