Democrats in the Senate blocked a bill that would have sanctioned the International Criminal Court. Republicans had proposed the bill in response to the ICC charging Israeli officials over the war in Gaza. Democrats tried to negotiate changes in the bill, stating they felt it was too broad and could lead to sanctions against allies who are ICC member states and U.S. tech companies that support the court.
