Even though it has since ended, the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza was not as complete as hoped. On Nov. 30, 2023, there was a terrorist attack in Jerusalem. Well-known Rabbi Rav Elimelech and two women, 67-year-old Chana Ifergen and 24-year-old Livia Dickman, were killed. Seven other civilians were critically wounded.
The question of who specifically planned this attack is not known. However, the groups in question include Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, PFLP, ISIS and the Palestinian Authority. Are they linked to Hamas or should these groups be viewed as independent political organizations? If their objectives are the same, aren’t they the same? No one is sure, but what is sure is that Israel is a Jewish state of 6 million Jews. This state is surrounded by Arab and Muslim states containing many more millions who want to live in a world where the Jewish people have been eliminated.
