Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, Pastors George and Terri Pearsons joined their friend Rabbi Tully along with 500 others who had gathered to pray for the ongoing situation in Israel. Pastors George and Terri offered their ongoing encouragement and love as Pastor Terri shared, “We have our eyes focused on the victory side of things, because we know that with our God victory is already settled and we are just going to walk it out. We will walk it out together.”
Pastor George encouraged and prayed for the people with a reminder of the everlasting covenant the Israeli people have with God. The roots of this covenant go all the way back to the time of Abram. “I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God” (Genesis 17:8, NKJV). Hamas is trespassing. This God-given land is an everlasting possession.
He went on to pray for the people, that they would be far from the oppression of the enemy. He also reminded them of the promise God offers of strength. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10, NKJV).
They concluded their prayer time with Pastor Terri reiterating their unwavering support for Israel. “We are with you, we are for you, we are turning our ship and our face to you. We are standing strong in faith in our eternal God, whose love endures forever. And our love for you endures forever. We are at your service.”
